Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN) has been named one of the Top 10 Best Small Airports in the United States by the 2025 Newsweek Readers’ Choice Awards. Ranked nationally, the honor reflects the airport’s continued growth, strong passenger experience, and community-first approach to regional air travel.

This prestigious recognition is based on nominations from Newsweek panelists and contributors and determined by thousands of public votes nationwide.

“This honor reflects the incredible momentum that Tweed-New Haven Airport has built over the past few years,” said Michael Jones, CEO of The New HVN. “We realize that travel can be demanding and that our rapid growth has transformed HVN that now serves over 1.5 million passengers annually. We’re proud to deliver a friendly, welcoming, and small airport-focused travel experience that reflects the best of New Haven and the region. This recognition belongs to our entire HVN team, community partners, and the travelers who choose Tweed-New Haven as their airport of choice. We are humbled to be recognized with the other great small airports who were selected in this nationwide vote.”

“Tweed-New Haven Airport has become a powerful driver of opportunity and access for Southern Connecticut, and the entire state,” said Robert Reed, Chairman of the Tweed-New Haven Airport Authority. “This national recognition is a testament to the investments we’ve made and the partnerships we’ve built—especially with our local communities—to ensure Tweed continues to grow responsibly, sustainably, and with purpose.”
